Personally, sometimes I like to sit at “La Luna Restaurant” with a piece of cake and orange juice; “Bistro Café Latino” with a really nice white coffee with a Bocadillo (sandwich with baguette bread); or at “Waikiki“ at the beach with a Coffee and a Croissant.
One of my favorites place “The New Bakery Café” is located on the main Av., I usually go during the afternoon for my Spanish “Merienda” (snack time before dinner).

3. Do some morning Yoga at the Beach

If you want to have a local experience, you have to try their habits. Spanish have Merienda (like tea time with biscuits) around 4-5 o’clock, which means they don’t get hungry till 9-10 pm. People from Europe are hardly ever eating after 9 pm, so if you are dining later than that you will find restaurants only with locals in it.

12.Try tapas or seafood

Corralejo has Spanish restaurants downtown, it is also called a Music square. Spanish cuisine has mainly 3 options: fresh seafood, tapas or paella. If seafood is not your taste, you will have to stick to tapas. The most famous ones are fried goat cheese with marmalade, Canarian potatoes with mojo sauce., croquets with ham/cheese/mushroom/chicken, Padron pepper, and Iberian ham. You can try small Spanish restaurants like La Bodeguita or a bigger place like Tapas Oscar.

13. Drink the local specialties

Tropical beer is from the Canary Islands, it is served in a green bottle, but what makes it special is the dog logo on it. It has a temperature indicator, so if the dog is blue, your beer is ready to drink, if the dog is white, the beer is not cold enough.
Honey rum (Ron Miel) is also a must-do when you are here, most restaurants invite you for a shot (Chupito) after the dinner you consumed there, some places even put whipped cream on top. It can be found in all the supermarkets at a reasonable price and at the airport’s duty-free shop also.

14. Explore thousands of stars

If you get out of the city around midnight, just head to the sand dunes with your towel, and spend some time under the stars. The light pollution on Fuerteventura is very low and the sky is clear most of the time, so you even have a chance to see the milky way from here. If you are a couple, it can be a cute romantic date.

15. Visit the popcorn beach

This beach became really famous after some photos went viral on social media. It is really special because the sand has popcorn form. You can find 2 different spots, one is next to Sunset Lounge Bar and the other one is located off-road west from Corralejo on the way to Majanicho (Origo Mare). It is strictly forbidden to take this type of calcareous algae (rodolitos in Spanish) since it took millions of years to nature to make them and they are protected by Spanish law. Lately, many tourists have been caught at the airport carrying bags of this “popcorn”. You can get a fine taking them home as a souvenir, so just take some photos and leaven them at the beach.
